Today is the last day of the NFL regular season. The last NFL weekend is confusing for many bettors.
- Some teams have nothing to play for.
- Some teams need a win to get into the playoffs.
- Some teams are resting stars in preparation for the playoffs (especially if there is no clear advantage to winning the game).
One game that we circled today is the Tampa Bay - Atlanta game. Tampa Bay has clinched their division title and is headed to the playoffs. Atlanta won't make it to the playoffs. The sports marketplace data shows that the sharps believe that TB will (wisely) rest (and protect) their star players. It may seem weird to take Atlanta -4.5, but weird and uncomfortable leads to profits more often than not.
